Kelly Higgins, originally from Corunna, Michigan, officially joined the Office of Academics Services staff in February 2013. Kelly serves as an Academic Advisor for football student-athletes, as well as working as an assistant for the Office of Student-Athlete Development.
Kelly previously served as an Academic Advisor for football at Florida State University (2012-2013). Prior to FSU she was as the Assistant Director for Student Services at Central Michigan University (2010-2012). While at CMU Kelly served as an academic advisor for women's basketball, men's and women's track & field/cross country, women's gymnastics, and field hockey. She also served as the tutoring and mentoring coordinator, worked with initial and continuing NCAA eligibility, advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and taught multiple sections of FYE101, a freshman student-athlete transition course.
Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science Degree, with a major in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in May 2008. She graduated from Central Michigan University in May 2010 with a Master of Arts - Sport Administration degree. Kelly was a member of the cross country and track & field teams while at both MSU and CMU.
She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A), where she serves on the strategic planning and legislative committees.
