Dan Ott

Dan Ott has been a Learning Specialist in the Office of Academic Services since 2002 and provides academic support for student-athletes in football, golf, tennis and men’s soccer.

Dan has accumulated a wide range of teaching experience. He came to the Athletic Department from the School of Human Ecology, where he served as Director of Student Teaching. Prior to that, Dan held various instructional and supervisory positions in the School of Education. In addition to his classroom teaching at various levels, Dan served as an Artist-in-Residence in the Madison Metropolitan School District and worked as a network television consultant in children's programming.

Dan received his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College, where he also played football and volleyball. His graduate degrees include an M.A.T. in education from Oakland University and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from UW-Madison.

A proud fifth generation Southern Californian, Dan now resides in rural Green County with his wife Mary Grace Ott. They have two adult daughters, Betsy and Anna Rose.
