Chad Kimmel joined the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department’s development staff in January 2008.
As a Senior Director of Development, Kimmel now has a leadership role in developing, implementing and evaluating the identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies tied to a number of the Division’s development priorities. Kimmel focuses his efforts on securing private support for athletic facility projects and endowments.
Prior to his current role, Kimmel oversaw the Badger Fund, Wisconsin’s annual fund program, from 2007-11. Under his leadership, the Badger Fund grew from $8 million to $10 million in annual giving.
Before arriving at Wisconsin, Kimmel worked at Kansas State University where he served as a graduate assistant of athletic marketing from 2002-2003, assistant director of athletic marketing from 2003-2005 and assistant director of athletic development from 2005-2007.
Kimmel earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Austin Peay in 2002. He continued his education at Kansas State University earning a master’s degree in college student personnel in 2004 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education administration-student affairs.
Kimmel and his wife, Casey, have two children: daughter, Kennedy and son, Will.
