Welcome to the Game Day Blog live from the Kohl Center. The 25th-ranked Badgers are set for their second game in three days, welcoming SIU-Edwardsville to Madison tonight.

We just went under 12 minutes to go on the pre-game clock, and I'll be back with starting lineups in a few minutes.
7:20
Who will lead the Badgers in scoring tonight?
Marcus Landry
 ( 33% )
Trevon Hughes
 ( 9% )
Joe Krabbenhoft
 ( 2% )
Jason Bohannon
 ( 26% )
Keaton Nankivil
 ( 2% )
someone else....
 ( 28% )

7:32
We've got starters as the pre-game clock expires....

For SIUE .... sophomore center Nikola Bundalo, junior forward Denykco Bowles, junior guards Barry Wellington and Aamir McCleary and senior guard John Edmison.

For the Badgers, it's Landry, Hughes, Bohannon, Krabbenhoft and Nankivil for the second straight game.
7:34

[Comment From jay]
just signed in...has it started yet? Big Ten Network is still with the Indiana game.
7:36
We're just getting ready to tip now ... I'm guessing BTN will stay with the Indiana game until it's over.
7:37
[Comment From Brian]
is there any way to listen to the game online?
7:38
Check out the Game Day page for links to the live audio stream.
7:39
Marcus picks up where he left off on Sunday ... drops in a layin to get the scoring going for the Badgers -- it's 2-0
7:40
Then he gets a block on the other end and sets up a nice runout that J-Bo finishes to double the Badgers' lead ... it's 4-0 at the 17:20 mark
7:41
The Badgers started out cold from the floor, but a 3 by J-Bo is their third straight bucket ... shooting 3-for-8 from the floor so far
7:42
[Comment From jay]
Wow, those SIU jerseys are different.
7:42
There's no missing the "e" that sets them apart from the SIU that has made all those NCAA tournament runs recently ... it's enormous on the front of their unis
7:44
SIUE takes a timeout at the 14:56 mark ... the Badgers have forced three turnovers already without giving up one of their own.
7:44
First media timeout at 14:55.
7:45
[Comment From Ryan]
Whats the score?
7:45
9-5 Badgers .... UW is 4-for-12 from the floor, SIUE is 2-for-5
7:46
[Comment From evan]
What kind of a lineup does SIU have?
7:47
Three of their starters are taller than 6-5, and they've got a 7-footer on the bench, so there's definitely some size there
7:48
[Comment From From courtside]
Mason... this is Patrick. Do you want me to chime in from time to time with commentary?
7:48
Does anyone want to hear from Patrick?
7:49
[Comment From paul]
no
7:49
Well that settles it.
7:50
Leuer joins the party to bump the Badgers' lead to 10 points ... it's 15-5 with 12:18 to play
7:51
[Comment From Ben]
I'm sitting in class so I can't see the game. What's going on right now? Still the media time out?
7:52
That's a tough spot ... but I know how expensive college is, so I would say to pay attention to your professor over me
7:52
A deadball at 11:51 takes us to a media timeout ... still 15-5 Badgers
7:54
Getting back to SIUE's lineup ... their leading scorer, a 6-5 freshman forward named Mark Yelovich didn't make the trip to Madison because of a family situation ... he's averaging 15.3 points in the Cougars' first three games
7:55
[Comment From jay]
Leuer seems real confident with his shot tonight.
7:56
If so, that confidence is paying off. He's 3-for-3 from the floor with six points in just four minutes
7:56
Just as I say that .... he misses.
7:57
And then splashes a trey. Maybe we should keep talking about him!
7:57
It's now 20-10 Badgers with 9:51 to go.
7:58
[Comment From jay]
It'd be nice if he could have another Michigan-like game like last year!
7:58
It's shaping up pretty well so far.
7:59
[Comment From Dane]
Hows trevon playing tonight? Is he driving to the hole tonight or sitting outside?
7:59
He just worked it from outside, knocking down a trey to make it 23-10 with 8:50 to go
8:00
[Comment From evan]
Landry already has 4 blocks?
8:00
Yeah ... not bad against a team with some decent size
8:01
J-Bo hits a pair of free-throws to give the Badgers their biggest lead at 25-12 ... and it's time for the under-8 media timeout
8:03
Seven turnovers by SIUE already, with the Badgers credited for three steals ... it also helps that the Cougars are shooting 5-for-16 from the field
8:05
A 5-0 run for the Cougars as Stineman drains a trey, but Jarmusz answers with a 3 for the Badgers on the other end ... UW is 4-for-6 from beyond the arc
8:06
Make it 5-for-7! Leuer makes it look easy from the outside and he's into double-digits with 12 points. Badgers lead, 31-17 with 5:49 to go.
8:09
[Comment From jason]
how is keaton doing tonight
8:09
On command, he drops in his first points of the night
8:10
Time for the under-4 media timeout with 3:48 to go in the half ... Badgers lead 33-17
8:11
The 7% who voted for "someone else..." in tonight's poll get the credit to this point, with Leuer's 12 points leading all scorers
8:12
[Comment From Brian]
is the live stat tracker updated at the same time as the monitors in the arena? seems like the update is pretty fast
8:12
The live stats feed is very quick
8:12
Check it out here
8:13
Back to live action and Krabby goes 2-for-2 at the stripe to push the UW lead to 35-17
8:14
Pretty balanced scoring for the Badgers so far, with seven guys tallying points ... Landry's been held scoreless since his first bucket, though
8:15
Trevon is 2-for-2 from downtown and the Badgers are up 38-19 with 2:25 to go ... Badgers are 6-for-8 from beyond the arc tonight
8:16
Badgers take their "use it or lose it" timeout with 2:12 left in the half
8:18
There's Marcus ... goes up strong for a two with 40 seconds left in the half .. .it's 40-21 Badgers
8:19
Marcus comes oh-so-close to banking in a deep 3-ball off an inbounds play with 0.9 seconds left ... Badgers go into the half leading 40-21
8:21
The first half was certainly a clean one ... just seven fouls between the teams combined
8:21
[Comment From jay]
I liked Bo's look when that shot almost went down. He was also unsure of J-Bo's second foul.
8:22
I really like Bo's look with the red jacket in the photo we used at the top of the blog
8:24
Break time for the blog, too....
8:24[Be Right Back Countdown]10 minutes
8:36
I see that Badger win gets you $10 off your purchase at a local sporting good store with your ticket stub ... if anybody isn't going to use theirs, I know someone that could really use a deal on a parka
8:36
Back at it for the scond half, and J-Bo wastes no time splashing another 3 ... it's 43-21 Badgers 16 seconds into the half
8:37
Another block for Landry ... and a finish by Trevon on the other end. Timeout SIUE with 18:47 on the clock
8:38
It's 45-21, by the way
8:39
Just made the announcement of the winning song selected for the "Badger Jukebox" promotion ... Ring of Fire an excellent choice by the Kohl Center crowd
8:39
They're 2-for-2 to start the half, and the Badgers are now shooting 50 percent for the game. SIUE is 9-for-26 ... wait while I calculate that
8:40
It's 35 percent shooting for the Cougars
8:41
Krabby knocks down a shot that would have been a 3 last year ... but it bumps the lead to 47-23 tonight
8:42
Leuer is back on the floor .... he is still tall
8:43
I really can't get over the giant, white "e" on the Cougars' uniforms ... must be some real hometown pride for those guys.
8:45
Jarmusz and Taylor into the game for the Badgers ... Tim has four rebounds in just seven minutes of action tonight
8:45
[Comment From badger bill]
Do you think we should schedule tougher teams to start the season/
8:47
Tough is a pretty subjective term ... Long Beach State certainly proved a tough matcup on Sunday, and VMI brought it against Kentucky the other night in Lexington. Just because the team doesn't come from a "marquee" conference, doesn't mean they can't trip up a Top 25 team. Remember, it's early in the season for everybody.
8:49
Great ball movement ends with a pass from J-Bo to Leuer that the Tall Guy stuffs in to give him 15 for the game
8:49
Timeout with 13:55 to play and the Badgers leading, 56-26
8:51
Leuer is taking over. Another stuff from The Tall Guy and he has 17 for the game on 7-for-9 shooting.
8:52
Speaking of tough schedules, the Badgers continue their early season run of five games in nine days in the Paradise Jam beginning Friday. The team will board a bus early tomorrow morning to head for Chicago and a flight to Miami. From there, it's on to the Virgin Islands to wrap up a full day of travel.
8:54
Leuer's the leading scorer with 17, but Jarmusz has a team-high 6 rebounds in 11 minutes ... and Marcus already has five blocks
8:55
J-Bo is on the receiving end this time and finishes to bump his point total to 14 ... it's a 32-point lead for the Badgers with 12:17 to go
8:56
[Comment From john]
Why don't they know if they play Sat., Sun. or Monday?
8:56
Based on the bracket, it all depends on a win or loss against Iona to determine when the next game will be
8:56
Media timeout at the 11:56 mark.
8:59
[Comment From scott]
what teams will be at the Paradise Jam?
8:59
The field is made up of: Connecticut, Iona, La Salle, Miami, San Diego, Southern Miss, Valparaiso, Wisconsin (more info here)
9:00
If the Badgers take down Iona, they'll get the winner of the San Diego-Valparaiso matchup on Sunday ... if they lose, they'll face the loser of that game on Saturday
9:02
Another bucket gives Marcus a quiet 14 for the game
9:02
The Tall Guy is back in for Krabby, who heads to the bench with 6 points, 6 boards and 5 assists. Not a bad night's work.
9:03
16 assists on 27 baskets for the Badgers ... the Cougars have 7 assists on 12 buckets
9:04
SIUE is shooting a cool 29 percent from the field and has turned the ball over 18 times
9:05
A 3-ball goes down for SIUE and the crowd reaction from the 20 or so Cougars fans behind their bench echoes through what has become a quiet Kohl Center
9:05
Oh, and Leuer has 19 points as the badgers lead 69-33 with 7:10 to go
9:07
It's 72-33 after a trey by Trevon, and Gavinski (you've been asking for him!) checks in
9:08
Media timeout at the 6:30 mark
9:08

9:15
Gullikson and Valentine check in for Wilson and Leuer ... it's 76-43 Badgers with 4:26 to play
9:16
Jarmusz now has 7 points to go along with his 6 boards
9:16
Last media timeout at teh 3:41 mark
9:16
[Comment From Tim]
Landry stats?
9:16
15 points for Marcus, with 5 boards, 5 blocks and 3 steals
9:17
Take away his 0-for-3 mark from 3-point land, though, and the Badgers are shooting 67 percent from beyond the arc
9:18
Out of the timeout the Badgers will look to crack 80 points for the first time since putting 80 on Penn State on Jan. 15 last season
9:19
There it is on a bucket from Gullikson
9:19
[Comment From tim]
why is the mens 3 pt line white? kind of hard to see on the light wood floor
9:20
With the line moving back a foot this season, teams are required to have the men's and women's lines different colors ... it's actually not that hard to see from the floor
9:20
With a pair of free throws from Gavinksi, the Badgers have 10 guys who have scored tonight
9:21
[Comment From John]
Will you be blogging from the Jam Tourney and what tv network will cover thoses games?
9:22
There will be a Game Day blog as long as facilities allow it, and the Paradise Jam folks have some streaming video options available here
9:24
Inside of a minute and Morris Cain gets on the board again for the Badgers ... that's 11 scorers tonight for UW
9:25
That's it! Your final is 88-58, Badgers. A nice solid win heading into the weekend in Paradise.
9:26
Badgers finish with 59 percent shooting from the floor compared to 38 percent for the Cougars. Badgers were 20-for-27 from the floor in the second half (74%).
9:27
Leuer finishes with 19 to lead all scorers, with Marcus adding 15, Bohannon chipping in 14 and Trevon finishing with 11.
9:29
Well it's off to Paradise for the Badgers, who will return to the Kohl Center for their next home game on Nov. 29 against UW-Milwaukee.

Thanks for following along tonight, and be sure to check back with UWBadgers.com for the most complete coverage of tonight's "W" by the Badgers.
