2:25 p.m. - QB draw comes up just short. Timeout Citadel, 25 seconds left.
2:22 p.m. - Lots of short, quick passes by The Citadel today. That one got them a first down. Two straight incompletions, including a breakup by Casey Hogan. On third down, a diving catch gives The Citadel first-and-goal on the 9.
2:19 p.m. - Bulldogs try no huddle on third-and-1 for the sneak but they're not set. Penalty pushes them back five.
2:19 p.m. - Citadel going five-wide from the Badger 42 with less than two minutes left.
2:15 p.m. - Much like Y2K, 10,000 came and went without an incident. Everyone can breathe easier now.
2:13 p.m. - Marcus Randle El makes his first catch of year, a nice diving effort to give the Badgers a first down.
2:12 p.m. - We're at slightly more than 9,800 page views. I think this thing explodes when we get to 10,000 so tread carefully.
2:12 p.m. - Lots of kickoffs today and we finally have our first touchback of the day.
2:08 p.m. - Nice pass gets The Citadel down the field. 38-yard field goal makes it 45-24 UW with 5:03 left.

1:47 p.m. - GREAT read by Shaughnessy on the screen pass forces another three-and-out. Gilreath has been very good on returns. His return and a facemask gives UW the ball on the Citadel 28.
1:46 p.m. - One place we have been really solid all day has been kickoff coverage. Citadel pinned at their own 14.
1:43 p.m. - We're getting creative now. Tyler rolls out and throws to Hill for an 11-yard touchdown. Hill ties the school record for touchdowns in a game.
1:39 p.m. - Heavy dose of P.J. brings the ball down to the Citadel 11-yard line. End of the third quarter. Student section race ... winner is ... J! And now, we proudly present ... The House of Pain. Lots of jumping!
1:33 p.m. - And we're over 7,000 page views. And P.J. is over 150 yards.
1:33 p.m. - Three-and-out for the Citadel. Couple shifty moves gives Gilreath a 13-yard return. Badgers' ball on their own 38.
1:29 p.m. - Donovan rolls out of the pocket and looks for Swan in the end zone. Pass interference puts the ball inside the five. Badgers can't punch it in. They were going to go for it on fourth-and-1, but there was movement on the line. Mehlhaff comes in for the 22-yard field goal. 31-21 Wisconsin, 3:57 left in the third.
1:20 p.m. - Aubrey Pleasant follows up with a sack on a safety blitz. And Shane Carter comes up with the big play, making a great read and going high to pick off a pass at the Citadel 36-yard line. First turnover of the game.
1:19 p.m. - Our KO coverage team is laying some lumber today. Jay Valai is the latest to get a big hit.
1:18 p.m. - Extra point good. 28-21 Badgers, 8:38 left in the third. Noticeably cooler in the press box now.
1:12 p.m. - P.J. carries the pile for two yards. Then bulls in for one and his fourth TD of the game. The school-record is five rushing TDs, last time by Brian Calhoun twice in 2005. Citadel player is down.
1:12 p.m. - Pass just off Swan's diving hands in the back of the end zone. However, Citadel was holding on the play. First-and-goal from the three.
1:08 p.m. - TO Wisconsin. Ask the Badgers today is cell phone ring. Stev Johnson's is "Brown-eyed Girl," which segues perfectly into the song over the PA.
1:07 p.m. - Beckum goes up between two defenders to set up first-and-goal.
1:03 p.m. - We're creeping up on the 5,000-page view mark. Be sure to keep refreshing. Big third-down conversion. Plenty of time for TD on that one.
1:02 p.m. - Nice start to the half for P.J. Big hole and some speed for 26 yards.
12:54 p.m. - Our time-honored "Varsity." Band played a medley of '70s songs, including "Bad, Bad, Leroy Borwn." For those that are wondering. 4:00 till the second half.

12:35 p.m. - Citadel squibs the kick to Tyler Holland who returns it to the 50. TD just misses Swan long. Third down. All-out blitz by the Bulldogs forces fourth down.
12:32 p.m. - Tough to keep up with this no-huddle stuff. First down after a short run up the middle. Citadel with a pump fake and then hits the running back Cooper running free over the middle for a 19-yard TD, 21-21, :54 seconds left.
12:27 p.m. - Paul Standring and Ben Strickland combine for a big hit on the kickoff.
12:25 p.m. - Nice run by P.J. on third down, breaks it outside and down the sideline and just misses getting into the end zone. No problem, he finishes it up with a one-yard TD, his third of the day. 21-14 UW with 3:01 left in the half.
12:22 p.m. - Citadel kicks it out-of-bounds but the Badgers make them kick again. Good move as Gilreath brings it back to the Badgers' 39 and then draws a late hit.
12:20 p.m. - Citadel is mixing it up quite a bit between shotgun and QB under center. On third-and-goal, QB rolls left, looks back right and throws to a wide open tight end in the end zone. 14-14, 4:09 left in the half.
12:15 p.m. - Citadel takes its second TO. The crowd is now "Livin' on a Prayer."
12:11 p.m. - Quick trap play up the middle goes for 19 yards. Pass and a QB draw and The Citadel is inside the 20.
12:03 p.m. - Fourth-and-1. No, not the option. David Gilreath on an end around. Citadel tries to get away with 12 players on the field. P.J. bulls his way into the end zone for a 2-yard TD run. 14-7 Badgers, 9:05 left in the half.
11:59 a.m. - That timeout gave the student section the opportunity to start the first wave of the day. Slow motion once it reached section P. Now it's super-fast, and sent back by section P. Nice third-down coversion, Tyler on the roll right to Beckum.
11:58 a.m. - Almost 2300 page views already today. Definitely heading towards a record.
11:55 a.m. - Luke makes up for his penalty with a nice catch over the middle. Tyler just squeezes out of the pocket, gets past a diving defender and gets the edge for 24 yards. Timeout UW.
11:47 a.m. - Great penetration by Chapman blew up that option play bringing up third down. Quarterback draw and DeCremer with his second punt-forcing tackle of the day. Quarter over, 7-7.
11:44 a.m. - Couple nice runs by The Citadel, lots of misdirection stuff. Play clock is running down so they have to call timeout.
11:40 a.m. - We're at about capacity (still some stragglers coming into section P) and it looks pretty red. I think 95% is a good bet.
11:35 a.m. - Swan with a nice catch and holds on after taking a hard hit to the back. Heavy pressure on the last two plays forces a punt. After the delay of game penalty, which is declined. Nice punt downed at the six.
11:32 a.m. - After The Citadel kickoff, a little kid with blonde hair and a blue sweatshirt ran out to get the tee. Must be the son of one of the coaches. See, you can't get this kind of stuff anywhere else.
11:25 a.m. - A couple SportsCenter-type plays already. Jefferson's one-handed catch and the Levy upendeding a Citadel receiver who skied for a catch.
Reminder: my email is email@example.com if you've got anyhting to share.
10-yard touchdown pass to Tim Higgins (not the basketball official) ties the score at 7-7, 7:28 left in the first.
11:22 a.m. - Nifty reverse by The Citadel brings the ball into UW territory. Shameless plug #2: Check out the live stats. Looks pretty cool and it should work all game long today.
11:18 a.m. - A crease for P.J. on third-and-1 turns into 22-yard touchdown run. 7-0 Badgers.
11:14 a.m. - Sorry, computer issues. Back up now. Nice sack by DeCremer forces the Citadel punt. VERY nice return by Gilreath puts the Badgers in good field position. And Kyle Jefferson just caught his first career pass. Welcome to the club. Looks like he likes it as he just made a great one-hander for his second catch.
11:03 a.m. - Three minutes till kick and here's the intro video. Band is lined up and awaiting the Badgers' arrival. The student section is scrambling to fill up. Captains on the field. Tyler Donovan is the sixth today.
Citadel takes the field ... followed by the home team.
10:37 a.m. - Officially 30 minutes from kickoff. The first hiccup I see in Coach Bielema's Red stadium plan is the aforementioned High School Band Day. All the bands' uniforms are different colors, some green, some white, some purple. Other than that section of the stadium, seems as though we're about 95% red. Some people didn't get the memo. Or maybe they didn't want to stop wearing their lucky sweatshirt. I can respect that.
10:17 a.m. - Shameless plug #1: If you haven't read my blog about running "The Hill" with the men's basketball team, you definitely should. I've been told it's highly entertaining.
10:12 a.m. - I'm going to try to get a little heavier into game action today. Not play-by-play but maybe some drive updates and definitely score updates.I know there are some people that aren't able to see it on TV today so I'll do my best to keep everyone informed and paint a picture.
10:06 a.m. - Got a good breakfast of cheese and crackers, Chex mix, pulled pork sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie going right now.
Crowd still a little sparse. The Citadel's unis resemble North Carolina from up here. Our resemble the ones we wore against Washington State (cardinal-on-cardinal) .
9:40 a.m. - Here we are live at Camp Randall. It's pretty cold outside (in the high 40s) but here in the press box the sun is beating down and I am actually sweating. Plus the sun is at a tough angle to see the computer screen. The things I endure in the name of the blog.
Today is High School Band Day so the south end zone stands are pretty full with band members.Couple students in the building already. Looks like they got the message about the red.
