Got the spring time blues? You’re probably not alone. Yes the weather is getting nicer, the Brewers are in first place and the NBA and NHL playoffs are heating up. However, if you’re like me, then you can’t get enough of college football and you can’t wait for the 2009 season to start.
If you fall into that boat, then I’ve got great news for you. Thursday, May 28 (not Memorial Day as originally reported) marks 100 days until the Badgers kick off against Northern Illinois on Sept. 5 at Camp Randall Stadium to open the 2009 campaign. That game will start at 6 p.m. CT and be televised by the Big Ten Network.
In conjunction with the countdown to kickoff, UWBadgers.com will be running at least one football specific story with the countdown to opening day in mind.
Lest you think the Badgers will be idle for the next 100 days, the team will be back on campus starting June 8 to begin the summer session. The 2009 Big Ten Media Days and Kickoff Luncheon will be held on July 27-28. Finally, UW reports to fall camp on Aug. 10 to begin practice.
Be sure to check back to UWBadgers.com often in the days leading up to the start of the 2009 season for comprehensive coverage of the Badger football team.
