So, whose blog are you going to read if you want to follow the Badgers in Tampa? The one written by someone who was still in college six months ago (Rudy) or the one authored by somebody who will be taking his 11th bowl trip with the program, including his fourth to Tampa (Justin)? I thought so.
Seriously, I hope you’ll find them both enjoyable and informative. My staff and I thought we’d try to cover this bowl trip a little differently than we have in the past. By the end of the week, we’ll have three computers, three digital cameras and a two-man video staff in Tampa doing their best to bring you the sights and sounds of the Outback Bowl. Rudy and I will do most of the blogging for the first few days and we’ll concentrate on letting you know what the team and travel party are up to, on and off the field.
Since Rudy seemed to feel it was necessary to give you his personal history, I’ll briefly do the same. I’ve been with the Athletic Communications office at Wisconsin since 1994 and have served as the primary publicity contact for the football team, as well as director of the office, since 2001. Prior to that I was the men’s basketball contact here during the Van Gundy/Bennett/Soderberg years. Career highlights for me include the ’99 and ’00 Rose Bowls, the 2000 Final Four, the 2002 Winter Olympics, last season’s 12-win football season and Joe Thomas winning the Outland Trophy.
Feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com with questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. We’d love to make this coverage as interactive as we can, have some fun with it and see where it goes. For now, have a safe and happy holiday. Talk with you next week. Peace …
