Brian Lucas (Assistant Director of Athletic Communications)

7:23 p.m. - Looks like we've got some great weather on the way in the Madison area again tonight. I think it's raining right now but it's supposed to change over to snow then get very windy overnight. Hopefully it holds off until well after the game is over.

Not much to report pre-game other than Trevon Hughes looks to be sporting a new mohawk. And one of Valpo's starters is Jake Diebler, brother of Jon Diebler, a freshman at Ohio State and the all-time leading scorer in Ohio high school history. He even scored more points than that LeBron guy.

7:33 p.m. - Starting lineups. Just noticed that I'm wearing the same suit (different shirt and tie) as in the photo accompanying this. And that pic was taken at the last game. My bad.

7:36 p.m. - No gameday photographer today so no pics unfortunately. Badgers win the tip.

7:41 p.m. - I see why Pop went with the mohawk. Dude on Valpo, #00 Igbavboa has a monstrous afro. Badgers with three early turnovers and Valpo leads 8-0. Bo calls a TO.

7:46 p.m. - First TV timeout. Not great stats for UW. 1-of-3 from the field with three TOs. Valpo 3-of-4 (2-of-2 from 3) and 2-of-4 from the line.

7:49 p.m. - Jon Leuer has both buckets for UW, the last one coming on a fast break dunk over two Valpo players.

7:56 p.m. - Two nice plays from Krabbenhoft gave the Badgers their first lead of the game. He pulled the old "bounce it off the defender's back while out of bounds" move for a layup, then kicked the ball our for a Hughes 3-pointer. A Valpo post move tied the score as we're in the second TV timeout (15-15).

7:59 p.m. - Hughes just hit a three the bounced off the rim, off the top of the backbourd and right through the hoop. Badger up two.

8:01 p.m. - J-Bo follows it up with a trey against Valpo's 1-3-1 zone, prompting a timeout by Homer Drew (21-16 Badgers).

8:06 p.m. - Third TV timeout. Butch just picked up his second foul, this one on the offensive end. Don't think the Badger bench liked the call. Butch had it around the 3-point arc and swung the ball in front of him, catching Valpo's player with an elbow. Before that, Butch converted a three-point play to give UW a 24-16 lead.

8:09 p.m. - Bucky has antlers on.

8:17 p.m. - Some sloppy play during that stretch. The Badgers only scored two points between TV timeouts and comitted four turnovers. That's 11 for the game. Combined with 2-of-6 free throw shooting, their leaving some points out there. The good thing, as always, the defense is there. Samuel Haanpaa has 12 of Valpo's 24 points. He's 4-of-5 from the field, the rest of the team is 4-of-15.

8:24 p.m. - Not the best way to end the half. Not sure what the scoring drout was but we scored four points over the last whatever. And Valpo drove for a lay-up to close out the half. The Crusaders are up 31-28 with 20 minutes to go.

8:39 p.m. - About to start the second half. There's the buzzer.

8:44 p.m. - The guy with the big afro just picked up his fourth foul. On Butch's second free throw, Marcus grabbed the rebound but fell to the ground. He had to call timeout. After just two offensive rebounds in the first half, UW has at least that many through 2:56 of this half.

8:51 p.m. - First TV timeout of the half with Valpo leading 39-34. Interesting stat note, Krabbenhoft has six of UW's seven assists.

8:55 p.m. - I changed the photo to try and improve our luck.

9:01 p.m. - The teams are trading baskets now. KG with a nifty shot fake and drive to the hole brings the Badgers within two, 45-43. Valpo calls a 30-second TO.

9:07 p.m. - They just took away a tip dunk by Butch and called it an offensive foul. No one wearing Red was real pleased with that call. Down the other end, Bouchie fouled out.

9:12 p.m. - Bit of a scoring drout for both teams. Valpo still leads 45-44. Landry was forced to call a TO after being trapped. 14 seconds left on the shot clock.

9:18 p.m. - Valpo with a 30-second TO. Flowers had a 3-pointer rim out then Valpo comes down and buries one. J-Bo answers, though, and the score is 52-49 Valpo with 5:49 left.

9:21 p.m. - J-Bo ties it on a driving layup but Valpo comes back and gets fouled going to the basket. They hit both to go back up by 2.

9:24 p.m. - Flowers tied it again with an alley-oop off an inbounds play, Krabbenhoft with his seventh assist. Butch just caused a tie-up, leading to our final TV timeout.

9:28 p.m. - Two good shot for UW, Krabbenhoft and Butch down low, but both rim out. Still tied.

9:29 p.m. - Hughes with a HUGE three as the shot clock is winding down to give UW the lead. TO Valpo. 2:13 left, 57-54.

9:31 p.m. - Valpo get to the line and knocks them both down. One-point game.

9:33 p.m. - Landry hit one of two but Krabby grabbed the offensive board. That resulted in J-Bo hitting a jumper for a 4-point lead. Down the other end, Landry with good defense forces and airball. Krabby with another rebound. He misses both but Valpo is called for a foul as they're bringing the ball upcourt.

9:37 p.m. - UW ball out of bounds after the foul. Hughes gets fouled and is going to the line. He makes one then Valpo drives down for a lay-up. TO Valpo. 61-58, UW with 35.9 left.

9:39 p.m. - Hughes fouled and going to the line. He makes one. Valpo fouled down on this end. They miss both and who else but Krabbenhoft with the rebound. He makes one.

9:42 p.m. - Valpo misses a three and Krabbenhoft with his 11th rebound. Nearly a triple double for Krabby today with 11 pooints, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Flowers then steals the outlet pass, throws up a crazy shot, it goes and the foul. Looks like UW is going to pull this out. Of course, he misses the free throw but Landry gets the rebound. 66-58 UW with 7.4 left. Landry hits both. Final score, 68-58.
