2008 Big Ten Tournament

1:50 p.m. CT (Sunday):
Sorry about not posting anything yesterday, but we had a pretty hectic day filled with games and interviews and everyone read the Courtside Blog anyways.

Anyway, we are at Conseco Fieldhouse about 45 minutes til tipoff of the 2008 Big Ten Tournament Championship. Wisconsin and Illinois meeting for the third time this season (UW 2-0 on the season).

The players got to sleep in today since in Eastern Time, the game doesn't start until 3:30 p.m. The team got to the arena about an hour and half before tip, did their usual warm up and are getting the final preparations before the game starts.

Make sure to read the Courtside Blog today and follow all the action. After the game (win or lose) the players, coaches, staff and family members have a room here at Conseco Fieldhouse to watch the NCAA selection show to find out what seed they are, what team the Badgers will face and where they will be playing the games.

Enjoy the game and On Wisconsin!

7:00 p.m. CT:
Some of the players went next door to the Hilton to catch the Illinois/Purdue game since our hotel doesn't have the Big Ten Network. A lot of families and fans are around the downtown area tonight grabbing dinner in this gorgeous spring weather.

Thad Jackson, from UW video services, shot a bunch of footage the past couple days and there are a couple videos available for fans to check out by visiting the Audio/Video page on uwbadgers.com.

The guys are resting up tonight, getting ready for MSU tomorrow. Have a good night everyone and we will check back with you all Saturday morning.

3:40 p.m. CT:
As you all should know by now, the Badgers beat Michigan 51-34 and will play Michigan State, who just beat Ohio State 67-60. Check out the Game Recap here.

The team hung around for the first half of the Ohio State/Michigan State game to watch their competition. They then returned to the hotel to rest and get any kind of treatment they need on their bodies.

There will be a team dinner a little later and then they guys are going to just hang out around the hotel and relax. I'll stop over and talk to some of the guys and maybe take some photos.

10 a.m. CT:
Welcome to the 2008 Big Ten Tournament live from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Badger fans have an all-access look into the on goings of the Wisconsin basketball team as it enters post-season play.

The Badgers watched the Michigan/Iowa game on Thursday and as soon as Michigan had it won, the team practiced against the scout team running Michigan’s offense to prepare for Friday’s game. The team and staff flew out of Madison around 4 p.m. CT and arrived at the hotel in downtown Indianapolis around 6:15 p.m. ET.

While the team was enjoying dinner, a lot of the staff and fans took the short walk to the Hard Rock Café to listen to Matt Lepay and Mike Lucas on their radio show live. The guys interviewed a number of guests throughout the night, including Andy North and former Badger Kirk Penny (the photo above).

With 11 schools in town, there were a lot of colors seen on the streets with everyone supporting their respective teams.

Friday morning started with a 7 a.m. wake-up call to the team for breakfast and some last-minute scouting on the Wolverines. The team got on the bus for a very short ride to Conseco Fieldhouse where they stretched and began warming up at 10 a.m. CT.

A couple of photos are attached below of the team before the Michigan game. Be sure to catch the Courtside Blog once the game nears and check back later for more on the game, the team and the travel.
