Really looking forward to the Madison Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Wednesday, June 4, at the Monona Terrace. I was flattered to be asked to be a presenter of one of the awards. I’ll be presenting Nathan Brown, one of our former track and field standouts, with the Edgewood College “Pat Richer” Favorite Sibling Award. Nathan has an unbelievable resume for someone who just graduated from the UW two years ago. He was a great athlete as a Badger, but he was an equally good student. He’s just finished his second year of medical school at UW and will be moving onto the clinical phase of his training this summer.
It’ll also be fun to see so many others with UW ties honored on Wednesday. Among them … Tom Grantham, who is the founder and chairman of the Crazy Legs Classic, will receive the Pat O’Dea Award. And Jack Kammer, a UW track and field letterwinner in 1947-48, will receive the Madison Sports Hall of Fame Club Good Guy Award.
